February 5, 2022

Under the latest Resolution 160-B of Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) these are the requirements needed for foreign tourists visiting the Philippines:

  1. Proof of Full Vaccination against Covid-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) except only for minors below 12 years of age traveling with their fully-vaccinated foreign parent/s;
  2. Negative RT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) Covid-19 test taken within 48 hours prior to the date and time of departure from the country of origin/first port of embarkation in a continuous travel to the Philippines, excluding layovers; provided, that, he/she has not left the airport premises or has not been admitted into another country during such lay-over;
  3. Return Tickets to the port of origin or next port of destination not later than 30 days from date of arrival in the Philippines;
  4. Travel insurance for Covid-19 treatment costs from reputable insurers, with a minimum coverage of USD35,000 (around PHP1.7 million) for the duration of their stay in the Philippines (obtained before arrival).

It is a strong reminder that foreign nationals should fully comply with the conditions and requisites as they will not be admitted into the country and shall be subject to the appropriate exclusion proceedings. The good thing about this recent announcement is that foreign nationals are no longer required to observe facility-based quarantine but shall self-monitor for Covid-19 symptoms for seven days.

However, the government is requesting our foreign tourists to be responsible enought as they are required to report to the local government unit of their destination should they manifest any symptoms.

Learning about this recent news, gives our team Travbest Travel & Tours to remain hopeful that things for the industry of tourism will be better for this year. And hopefully being able to welcome again our loyal & satisfied travelers from different parts of the world as our country reopens the borders.
